Just when oatmeal became a staple in my diet, I was told that I should really be eating steel cut. I thought, why? Why can't I eat my regular instant oatmeal that takes 45 seconds to prepare..so of course, I had to find out:

Steel cut oats are healthier than rolled oats, which are used in most oatmeal. Steel cut oats are not processed. Steel cut oats maintain their natural flavor and texture. Steel cut oats have low calorie content, and no calories from fat. Enough said?
Don't you worry my friends at Quaker offer Steel Cut Oatmeal. For all the info you need to know go to:

I need some topping ideas for my new addition...Any suggestions?

Love Steel Cut Oatmeal, especially the McCann's Irish Oats!!
When adding oats to the boiling water, add flax seeds, raisins, a cinnamon stick, raw walnuts or pecans, then top with honey or 100% maple syrup!! Super Yum!

i do oldfashioned rolled oats many mornings and throw a half a banana in while it cooks. also top sometimes with honey or peanut butter or some raisins.

I just got my first container of steel cut oats this week. I had almost forgotten about them since I don't really like oatmeal. Now I have to go get them and figure out what I'm gonna do with them!
I know how you feel. When I found out that the instant oatmeal that I was eating "every" morning was a waste of time and effort, I was heart broken.
